Wealth · Prosperity · Good Fortune
Welcome an auspicious bearer of prosperity into your home or business. In Chinese folk Feng Shui, the three-legged money toad, or Jin Chan, is traditionally placed to attract wealth and keep prosperity within. This brass ornament brings that wish into view with a coin at its mouth and a rich bed of coins and ingots.
A wish for a flourishing household and business
The money toad is associated with Liu Hai in Chinese folklore, where the creature brings forth money and accompanies a story of helping those in need. Its place in the home carries a wish for abundance, good fortune and a household that has enough to thrive.
Choose it for a new home, a shop or reception space, or an established business where you want a visible expression of prosperity. Its full form, mouth coin and surrounding ingots give that wish a distinct identity, rather than leaving it as an abstract word.
Money Toad: prosperity and good fortune
The money toad carries wishes for prosperity and good fortune in Chinese tradition. Its coin-bearing form gives those wishes a recognisable presence in the home or business.
The mouth coin and the direction of facing
The coin at the mouth can be removed. The placement tradition illustrated below distinguishes two display states of the same ornament; the six purchase options differ by length.
| Display state | Facing | Traditional intention |
|---|---|---|
| Without the mouth coin | Facing the doorway | Welcoming wealth and prosperity |
| With the mouth coin | Facing into the room, with its back to the entrance | Keeping prosperity within the home |
Choosing its place
The examples below connect a place with a particular wish: the north side of the home with family harmony and peace; a checkout counter with customers and a flourishing business; an office desk with steady effort and a promising future; and a position diagonally from the entry with a traditional wealth corner and daily blessings. Consider the actual entrance and room layout when choosing its position.
One design, six lengths
Choose 9 cm, 10 cm, 14 cm, 20 cm, 24 cm or 39 cm to suit the space you have in mind. Each size includes a wooden display stand and a removable mouth coin. The coin and ingot forms around the toad are part of the ornament's design.
Cash coins: prosperity and good fortune
Round coins with square central holes carry wishes for prosperity and good fortune in Chinese decorative tradition. The removable mouth coin and the coin forms around this ornament echo that same auspicious theme.
Brass: warmth, connection and vitality
The toad is made of brass. In contemporary material symbolism, brass shares copper's associations with warmth, connection and vitality—a brief material story alongside the money toad's traditional prosperity role. The wooden stand supports the ornament in its chosen setting.
Care for your display
Place the ornament on a stable, dry surface away from direct sunlight and heat. Wipe the brass and wooden stand gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, excessive moisture, perfumes and harsh chemicals, and handle the separate mouth coin carefully when changing its display state.
With its coin-bearing form and abundant sculptural details, the money toad gives a traditional wish for prosperity a lasting place in the home or business.
